I really like this charity site from Nike (re Crackunit). The video is just a great piece of work (whether it's online or not) but the site works really well to.
One of my mid-year resolutions was to start writing on here again. So here I am. Reviews seem a good place to start.
Been reading a lot lately and the current reading pile is getting bigger and bigger. This week I have been switching between Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine and Alex Ross' The Rest is Noise.
The former has been quite a good read so far. It's supposed to be this revolutionary premise but seems quite obvious to me really - the 'global free market' gains hold in many countries via wars and 'shock tactics' rather than more peaceful methods. I really like Klein's writing style though and have enjoyed this so far.
The Alex Ross book is really great and is opening my eyes (and ears) to a wealth of Twentieth Century music that I hadn't heard of before. The website that accompanies the book is really useful - and features lots of music clips scattered through the text. Would be great to read the book with this on an iPhone or some small Net-connected device in your hand. The future of reading!
Elsewhere have been discovering House and watched The Assassination of Richard Nixon which was really good. Sean Penn is amazing in it.
